One of the first steps towards getting always hired and selling yourself is to knowing where you excel and where you need work. Keep in mind that tech companies will not hire you, unless you can show what you have done, but alway ways you are working to improve yourself. When you are at a sales development interview, focus on how you want to prove yourself and make an immediate impact to the sales team and sales role. If you are still unaware of strengths and weakness, work with a sales trainer that can give you very direct feedback on how to improve but also what areas to focus on.


A big part of selling yourself is exemplifying self-confidence. For young professionals trying to get sales development roles and always hired, it does not matter how great you did in a history class, what matters is that you come across as confident and show something that you have sold and grown before. The only way to really gain confidence is through practice and real world experience. Companies would rather hire someone that has sold Cutco knives and has confidence to sell, rather than someone that has a 4.0 GPA.


Getting a sales development role is really challenging.
